Coloring & Drawing Competition

Competition Categories:
• Grade K-2 (Coloring Contest)
• Grade 3- 5 (Drawing Contest)
• Grade 6-12 (Drawing Contest)

Prizes and Trophies for Top 3 Winners in each category.
Winners will be announced live on the same day.
Participation Certificates for all.

Bring your own crayons/color pencils/paint materials.
Coloring and drawing paper will be provided.
The coloring & drawing theme of the competition is “Under the Sea World”.

Pre-registration online is required. Space limited.
Registration Fee $30

Families & Friends are also welcome to join the fun for $20!
This fee includes general admission into the Aquarium!
Regular Aquarium admission at the door purchasing through the Aquarium is $29.50 for adult and $22.50 for children. For Aquarium members, we will accept registration at the door for $10.

• Previously, Creative Director for CHA, America’s largest Craft & Hobby Association (1500 members)
• 25 years design experience in the advertising/publishing field
• 2018 NY Press award winner for best designed local magazine, best house ad and best automotive section
• Founding board member, Westbury Arts council, 2013 – present
• Founding board member, Town of North Hempstead Arts Council, 2015 – present


Xiangdong Shi

  • Artist, curator, PHD of Fine arts.
  • Member of China Arts and crafts association.
  • In 1994, he graduated from China Central Academy of Arts and Design with a bachelor’s degree.
  • In 1999, he graduated from China Central Academy of Arts and Design with a master degree .
  • In 2005, he graduated from the Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University in China with a Ph.D.

Mr. Shi received the Hirayama Yoshio Prize, Japan Fujio International Fine Arts Award, and the Central Government of China awarded the Hong Kong Return of Gift “Eternal Blooming Bauhinia Flower” Creative Design Group collective award, Nomination prize of Tsinghua University 90th Anniversary Celebration and Art and Science International Exhibition.

Mr. Shi was also invited by the China State Post Office to design the 21st World University Games commemorative stamps.

Mr. Shi participated in the 2nd Annual Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition held at the National Art Museum of China, the Sino-Japanese Modern Painting Exhibition, the Chinese Landscape Oil Painting Exhibition, the China Youth Oil Painting Exhibition and the Beijing Youth Oil Artists Invitational Exhibition, and the Young Asian Artists of the Year from 2015 to 2016 Nomination Exhibition, BITS & PIECES (Manhasset Public Library, Manhasset, NY, USA) and other important exhibitions.

In 2018, Mr. Shi held a solo exhibition at the Plainview Old-Bethpage Public Library in New York, USA.

Mr. Shi was also a public artist. He had painted murals for many institutions including the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Beijing Municipal Government. He has published a monograph “Beijing Public Art Research”.
