Chalk covered hands of all ages helped paint the town during the 22nd annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival in Riverhead Monday. The East End Arts event drew a crowd to Main Street for the popular Memorial Day weekend tradition.
For Memorial Day Weekend, Champkids took a trip to Eastern Long Island to celebrate the 22nd Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival hosted by East End Arts. This is a unique event where people come together and bring color and creativity to the streets of downtown Riverhead. “Chalkblocks” all over Main Street are rented out to interested participants, who have the freedom to draw whatever they want! Fenella and Allena, the founders of Champkids, claimed their own block and produced a beautiful image of a coral reef.
The event brought out a lively mixture of families, art enthusiasts, and casual vacationers, all of whom got to enjoy the amazing street art on display. The diversity of talent was definitely not in short supply, as a mini-Michael Jackson even showed off some of his moves at the Champkids booth!
We would like to thank East End Arts for having us at such a wonderful event! We look forward to the next one!
